Experience of using the Flash Extreme 67w Macintosh charger.

It is said that the three main characteristics of greasy middle-aged men in the Internet age are chargers, routers, and NAS, and it is true to some extent. At least as a middle-aged person, I am very interested in these three products and have purchased many of them. I even wrote an article about chargers for personal use and submitted it to Zhang Dama. Recently, I added a new member to my daily chargers, which is the Retro67 charger released by Shanji in April.

Reason for Purchase#

The reason for purchasing this new charger can actually be traced back to six months ago. At that time, my digital devices could only share one charging socket, and my 65W multi-port charger was taken by my wife, which meant that every time I finished charging my phone or iPad, if I needed to charge my computer, I had to change to a high-power charger. Or I could not change the charger, but I had to change the charging cable (when will Apple change all the interfaces to Type-C!). So at that time, I planned to buy another multi-port charger with a power of more than 65W, preferably with more Type-C ports (my current ZMI 65W charger has 1 Type-C and 2 Type-A ports, which cannot charge my phone and computer quickly at the same time, which has always been regrettable).

Hands-on Experience#

I first knew about the Shanji brand because of their hardcore power bank. To be honest, if it weren't for the high price, the appearance and performance of their products alone would be very attractive. It is also because of this product that Shanji has always been a brand with excellent product design but also a high price in my impression. The Retro67 charger is also such a product. The initial price of 269 yuan is really unrelated to cost performance!

Packaging#

However, when the product actually arrived, I could see that the overall product, starting from the packaging, truly lived up to the price. The square box has the appearance of the product printed on the front, and one of the selling points is the green digital rain on the side, which is a design that will attract straight men. The seal at the bottom of the packaging and the damping after opening are all very good experiences!

Actual Product#

When I opened the packaging, the charger was lying quietly on the base like a small Mac computer figurine. "Looks good! Very good! I like it! I really like it!" That was my first impression of it. The exquisite and retro design from the inside out really struck a chord with me! If you also like this design style of products, believe me, Retro will definitely satisfy you.

Digital Rain#

I couldn't wait to plug it into the socket and see the display effect of the digital rain. The overall brightness is not very high, very low-key and elegant. After connecting the load, it can display the charging power in real-time, completely solving my charging anxiety. I don't know if anyone is like me, every time I charge, I am always curious about how much charging power there is at that time? Is it charging quickly? Is the load and charger handshaking normally? It can be said that Shanji once again hit my pain point (of course, to solve this anxiety, I even bought a USB voltage meter before...)

Charging Protocol#

Since I have a USB voltage meter, there is no reason not to test the support of the charging protocol and see if it is as comprehensive as the official introduction.

From the test results, this charger has all the charging protocols except for Xiaomi's fast charging protocol. In this regard, it should be the charger with the most comprehensive charging protocols among the chargers I currently have! It has gained a few more points of favorability!

Conclusion#

If the previous Retro single-port 35W charger only attracted me with its appearance, the new Retro 67W charger from Shanji is really practical. Whether it is the Type-C port that can provide full power when plugged in randomly, or the dot matrix screen that can directly display the charging power, coupled with the super retro appearance, they are all attractive points for me. After receiving it, the workmanship, quality, and support for charging protocols are all excellent! Although the price is not cheap compared to similar products, I think it is worth it! If your budget is sufficient, among the 65W+ chargers, I highly recommend it! After all, you bought a figurine, and it can actually charge, and the charging protocols are particularly comprehensive. Just think about it, it's a win-win situation!
